Cargo pants are not just a fashion invention, and even though people like Tom Cruise made them popular before the turn of the new century, they’ve been around for far longer than the Top Gun film series has. The British army gets credit for first designing these nifty pants, mostly because they needed more places to store everything they had to carry with them during active service. By the time more war films hit the market, people were desperate to incorporate the style into their own fashion choices.
