Dream Symbology
According to The Book of Genesis, Joseph’s rather Freudian ability of dream interpretation was revealed during his imprisonment, a talent which he was happy to perform for a pair of fellow inmates. Such men were innocent too, one having been the pharaoh’s head baker, and the other his cupbearer. Joseph had prophecies ready for the pair: the baker was to be executed, while the cupbearer would be retained to his former occupation. Both prophecies would come to be.

Dream Symbology
The King’s Nightmare
After Joseph languished in jail for a few years, the mentioned pharaoh suffered a disturbing dream where seven starved cows fed on seven robust ones. There were also seven withered ears of corn feeding seven thriving ears of grain. With not a single wise man able to translate the dream’s symbology for the upset pharaoh, it fell to the cupbearer to recall that strange man who had predicted his timely release.
