Finally, with the European arrival at Kilimanjaro, a series of failed tries at making it to the peak of Kibo ensued. Eventually, Ludwig Purtscheller and Hans Meyer finally conquered the summit of Kibo, which is situated at the southern point of the mountain’s crater.
