Joe Strummer is a big name in the punk rock genre, having been one of the most inspiring figures ever. The Clash was Strummer’s biggest project, and he was welcomed to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. The Clash would also enter an album into the #2 position in the UK charts, and their succeeding albums would break into the US charts with platinum certifications. Along with the 101ers, The Mescaleros, and many other bands, Strummer would join forces with some of punk rock’s biggest historical figures.
Patti Smith – $16 million

The author, songwriter, and musician, Patti Smith, was a multi-talented powerhouse that was another integral pioneer in the punk rock scene. She would establish herself as a figurehead of the 1970s New York City scene. She was also a dedicated protest artist and poet. She composed Because the Night for Bruce Springsteen, which was perhaps her greatest work. Smith is also a fantastically accomplished writer, having been awarded the National Book Award in 2010 for Just Men, her memoir.
