John Prine has been heading an amazing musical career that began in the 1970s, being both a singer and songwriter. The man began learning how to play guitar when he was fourteen years old, having been taught by Chicago’s Folk’s Old Town School. Prine would take a sabbatical from music when he served in the then divided West Germany. Once his time in the army was over, he would return to Chicago where he would eventually encounter Kris Kristofferson, who would be so impressed by his sound that he would help Prine sign on with Atlantic Records.
Bono – $700 million

The Dublin-born Bono might not have known in his youth that he would go on to become one of the world’s most famous musicians of all time. He would grow up to lead one of the most successful bands of all time, U2, which he managed and fronted. He would also write the majority of their album’s songs. Bono holds 22 Grammys on behalf of his band, and has never been shy about guiding budding and successful musicians on songwriting. Bono was always very politically active, something that fed through into his music.
