The Status of the Rich
Certain things set the richer class apart and grant them a higher social standing. In earlier times, the rich were notifiable by their paler skins, flashier clothing, and some types of food. During the Elizabethan period, the rich were easily identified by sugar (as only the wealthier class could afford this amenity). However, problems were looming that they didn’t see.
The Status Of The Rich
Toothpaste was not a thing of that period so, with the consumption of so much sugar, they started to develop teeth problems. The rich used tooth decay as a way of saying it is a signature for the rich and a symbol that only those who could afford good food suffered from it. Many poorer-class people adopted the false proclamation in a bid to seem rich and accepted. However, before long, they realized it was no fun thing anymore after the pains started to hit home.
