Adho Mukha Svanasana, Or Downward-Facing Dog
Adho Mukha Svanasana, better known as Downward-Facing Dog, is one of the most familiar yoga poses. It stretches the hamstrings, calves, shoulders, and back while also helping the body feel more active. It is often used as a transition pose, but it can also be practiced on its own to improve strength and flexibility.

Begin on your hands and knees, with your hands under your shoulders and knees under your hips. Press into your hands, lift your hips, and slowly straighten your legs as much as feels comfortable. Your heels do not need to touch the floor. Keep your spine long and breathe deeply. Hold for about 20 seconds, then gently lower your knees.
