12. Guy Fieri
Never one to shy away from speaking his mind, Guy Fieri has been in the firing line of homophobic and sexist scandals, both of which involved slurs he made while the camera’s stopped rolling. Former producers of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives have confessed to putting in extra hours just to keep the star of the show inline.
The slurs he mentioned are a little too out there to even mention here, but needless to say, they were never anything that would have made it to air. Apparently, Guy was also instructed to watch where his line of sight strayed towards, as often they lingered to inappropriate areas, especially if a female chef was involved. Keep it tidy, Guy!
12. Bobby Flay (Part II)
When it comes to making dramatic exits, nobody does them as well as Bobby Flay does. While recording an episode of Iron Chef Showdown he took off his apron, revealing a shirt that said it was his last Iron Chef battle, well, ever. Nobody had been told about it before, and producers were stunned.
While digressing later in an interview with People, saying that the stunt had been a joke, he never returned to film another episode of the show after. Talking about it a year later, he said that the relentless filming schedule attached to Iron Chef was one of the reasons he (at the time) wanted to throw in the towel for good. Perhaps he’s a little regretful now?
