One of the biggest stars for the Food Network, Paula Deen hasn’t exactly shied away from the drama. In 2013, a former employee of hers claimed that Deen had taken advantage of her. Dora Charles, a personal chef, claimed to have been an integral part of building Paula’s cooking empire, but she never received a cent as she was promised.
As court records state, Deen paid the employee less than $10 per hour, even as she started to gain fame and notoriety, which came with exponential wealth. Dora didn’t want to portray Deen as a bad person, she was just trying to get her story, so others don’t get treated poorly by her too.
