Wonder’s upbringing was not the easiest, as his family often struggled to put food on the table. Lula Hardaway, Wonder’s mother, mentioned in her biography how poor her family was while Wonder was young. It has also been stated that Wonder’s father was an abusive alcoholic who was particularly vicious towards Lula. Thankfully, life would become slightly merciful for Wonder.
