Any beekeeper worth their salt has no reason to be afraid of being stung by the bees. This is not because they are confident or arrogant, but because of the protective uniform worn during any extraction.

In spite of being state of the art, there are times when bees slip into the uniform. Over time, David has built up immunity to bee venom, and he doesn’t feel stings as much as the average person would. The more you get stung, the more tolerant you are over time.
Building on David’s Shoulder
In the hours it took to work through the hive, David eventually had an unexpected set of visitors on his shoulders. Some of the hive had taken up residence on his right shoulder. Talk about making the most of a stressful situation!
Building On Davids Shoulder
David didn’t mind much when this happened. He says he feels calm around the buzzing, and often finds that the noise they make sounds a little like a symphony. Perhaps he was better suited to be living in the house than the family who hated the sound they made.
