Not all of the skills needed for world domination came from within the Mongol army. Some of the conquered regions had their own engineers and specialists, which Khan spared in order to get them to share their secrets. Those that wanted to stay alive had to show the Mongols how to get the most out of their weapons using technologies available to them at the time. This took the Mongol assault tactics to even greater heights.

Forget Diplomacy
Another of the important rules that the army always had to abide by was forgetting diplomacy in all decisions. This meant that there was to be no consideration for opponents, especially when it came to getting emotionally attached to those captured. The idea was to increase hostility at all costs, mostly because this would make it easier to enforce their dominant stance, and it would leave little room for outcomes that didn’t align with Khan’s ambitions.
