Frontal Assaults
After taking the flanking approach, Khan’s soldiers were then able to form a more unified approach to attacking from the rear. As the enemy would begin to advance forward, the Mongols would retreat somewhat, causing confusion among the rival contingent. It was through this approach that the Mongol army could demolish their opponents, often without even having a larger number of men at their disposal for the fight. This led to many victories for Genghis and his followers.

Skillful Engineering
The higher-ranking officials in Khan’s army had to be skilled at engineering too, in order to be able to strategize to the best of their abilities. These former soldiers were required to teach their subordinates about all the ways to protect and maintain the equipment they used, in order to be able to get the most out of what they had. This kind of thinking was ahead of its time, and is used prominently today.
