At the start of the second world war, it wasn’t clear that America would be getting involved at all. At the time, their policy was to maintain the piece, and they had little intention of taking part in the war as long as it didn’t affect them.

When Pearl Harbor happened, everything changed. America joined in on the Allied efforts, and ended up fighting right through to the official ceasefire. Always advocating for peace, the image below shows American troops celebrating once the war had ended.
