Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan in Green Lantern
Hollywood has become a major bustle in superhero movies, but it has never been an easy journey to reaching where they are now. With every Batman & Robin, there was a Batman feature to it, but a low part of the series came with Green Lantern. However, director Martin Campbell was left disappointed after thinking the energy portrayed by Bobert Downey Jr. would be the same with Ryan Reynolds – but wasn’t. The witty, memorable, and engaging character that Downey generally pushed was shoved out the window by Reynolds, who gave nothing more than a flat performance.
Reynolds worked well in Deadpool, but when it came to Green Lantern, he was a complete flop. The role didn’t work out well for him, and not only did it go low on the box office, but it turned out a failing grade for the popular actor. It is also recorded as one of the worst films to be released where the actor was featured as one of the main characters.
Colin Farrell as Alexander in Alexander
Angelina Jolie starred alongside Colin Farrell in the film Alexander where Colin played Alexander the Great. If you wish to know, this film was a major flop both on Farrell’s career and the box office. The popular actor has had many successes in other major films, but this one, where he played Alexander the Great as an Irishman, didn’t garner much success. Many people believed that his role in the film was almost like an insult to the Greek culture and could fit well as the greedy emperor who would end up ruling a large part of the world.
After watching the film when released, Farrell made a great laugh out of the situation. He brought up the features he portrayed – the blonde-bleached hair, Irish accent, and overall look – as something he never thought he would do. This look was also a major point of criticism and discussion for film critics who rated the movie shallow.
