Blood Transfusions
Where would we be if blood transfusions were not possible in most hospitals around the country? These can literally save lives, and are an important component of medical practices to this very day. During WWI, many doctors had to try different methods in order to save as many lives as they could. A man named Lieutenant Robinson was responsible for the first successful blood transfusion, and not long after, banks were set up to mimic what he did and save lives elsewhere in the process.
