Virtual reality is changing the way we engage with the world, and in the coming decades, it should continue to explode into various facets of modern day life. The technology actually got its start in the Air Force, where it was used to help train fighter pilots in simulations of contentious situations they might find themselves in up in the sky. That same technology transitioned to mainstream use after the 90’s, and today headsets can be bought at a fraction of the price they were initially.

World War II saw the first rollout of digital programmable computers, which helped with processing data, setting up strategies, and essentially acting as a tool to improve the efficiency in all military operations. This is not all that different from how we use computers for productivity today. Over time, computers have gotten smaller and smaller, which has led to a significant shift in humanity having access to data at the touch of their fingertips. The technology continues to improve, and will surely hit even greater heights in the decades to come.
