While Brodie certainly would have preferred a large fish as his first catch with his brand new rod, the leather purse has given him a memory that will last a lifetime. Even though it wasn’t quite the prized possession he was hoping for, the 11-year-old was still glad to be able to return the purse to its rightful owner.

Later, it was revealed that Ben initially thought Brodie had caught a treasure of sorts. As it was being reeled in and placed onto the deck of the boat, Brodie remembers Ben’s exact words: “You ain’t got no fish, you got a treasure”. Pity, it wasn’t exactly the treasure he might have been hoping for.
