Pilbara’s creation is one that occurred alongside that of our planet! There was a stage of Earth’s creation when it was supremely hot, where temperatures reached rock-melting levels. It is believed that amounts of liquid granite and basalt dropped and peaked throughout several million years. This prolonged geological phenomenon leaves a recognizable appearance throughout an area’s surface.

From a bird’s eye view, it is clear that this region is littered with leading signs of rocky domes, remainders of this primordial chaos. Such hills managed to make it through the preceding tectonic plate migrations, proudly standing tall in modern times. Consequently, plenty of Pilbara’s rocks date more than three billion years back in time!
