Where do we even begin with Chuck Berry? He is widely known as the “Father of Rock ‘n Roll, but that would take plenty of blood, sweat, and tears for the St. Louis-born youngster to achieve. He would begin his career by working alongside the Johnnie Johnson Trio. It was when he met Muddy Waters that he was assured success. Waters introduced him to Chess Music, and he would then release his first hit, called Ida Red.
Pete Townsend – $105 million

Pete Townshend is one of rock music’s most important figures, with the band The Who being his most notable success. He had a career that spanned over half a decade and he would, in later years, become one of the inspiring figures within rock ‘n roll in general. Townsend wrote hundreds of songs and almost one dozen albums for The Who. He was also a massive fan of rock operas, and wrote two of his own, called Quadrophenia and Tommy. He was a successful journalist and writer, too.
