Cauterization was the Deal
We have discovered that ancient cultures didn’t have any sterilization practices as people were not aware of germs and the dangers they posed. But, doctors of the era stilled performed surgeries and were not so much concerned about the dangers of the open wounds. But cauterization was practiced even though it still wasn’t a sure solution.
The process of cauterization is still practiced today but with more improved skills and better equipment. Cauterization is the process of burning a part of the body that went through surgery and involved cutting. Doctors nowadays mostly use electrocautery or chemical cautery on select surgeries with the use of antibiotics by the patient. As for the earlier times, cauterization was not as effective because there were no antibiotics, so it was just as dangerous, and infections were still on the rise.
