Anne Wished To Tie The Knot Again
On a tragic but unsurprising day in February 1542, Catherine was executed. Some reports state that she was just 19 years old when her life was taken. Anne mourned the loss of her acquaintance, but it wasn’t long before remarrying was back on the cards. Incredibly, Anne and her brother reintroduced the notion of tying the knot with Henry once more, or so some sources say. The history is unprecise when it comes to Henry’s response, but the king was apparently uninterested.

Anne Wished To Tie The Knot Again
Despite having been incredibly warm toward Catherine, Anne’s actions did not seem to influence Henry’s following marital decision. In The Six Wives of Henry III by Alison Wier, the Spanish ambassador is said to have stated that Anne mentioned how Catherine was not as attractive as her. That being said, Anne did apparently say that Catherine was taking on a heavy load with this new marriage. If anyone knew Henry well it was his ex-wives.
Anne Laughs Last
Anne would turn out to become an incredibly hardy character who would manage to outlive Catherine Parr with a period of nine years. Henry would pass away soon, in 1547, which was ten years prior to Anne’s eventual death. Although Anne would survive longer than all of Henry’s other wives, she did not, by any means, live longer than the others. That title belongs to Catherine of Aragon, who was the first wife to Henry. She died in 1536 at the age of 50.

Anne Laughs Last
Anne was able to depart from her marriage to Henry without having a single hair on her head hurt. She also managed to take off with plenty of assets. She is then widely considered to be the luckiest member of Henry’s dreadful list of wives. She was able to retire to a luxurious existence, far away enough from Henry that she could avoid his wrath. She was also able to reap the benefits of her distance from the king.
