According to defectors from the government, Room 39 is responsible for operations like as “counterfeiting, insurance frauds, and drug manufacture,” all of which, in addition to certain lawful attempts, are believed to profit the nation between $500 million and $2 billion USD. Given the nature of the North Korean dictatorship, it should come as no surprise that nothing can be verified.
