Further Find
Back in the coastline path, the two adventurers and now amateur biologists were thrilled with their discovery. But their excitement would soon turn into sheer terror.

Further Find
Their excited chatter suddenly stopped as David warned Mark not to move. Mark was perplexed, and swiveled speedily to see what his friend was so afraid of. The men had a new visitor – a second chimera crab rushed them from the bushes and assaulted the men with a claw about a meter long.
Shocked
Mark screamed and let go of his phone. The pair of explorers dashed onto a huge stone to escape the roving, slashing monsters. They prayed that the large rock that they had used as a safe advantage was not another enormous, camouflaged creature. Then began an hours-long wait as the men awaited Max Orchard’s arrival.

Shocked
The initially perplexed Max finally laughed out loud, informing Max and David just what their assailants were. He was sure that these were Coconut crabs, a crustacean species that had inhabited Christmas Island for many years. Mark had foolishly lifted one up – had he exposed himself to something?
