But it was not her relationship with fellow band member Chris Stein that would lead to Blondie’s downfall. Rather, mismanagement would strike at the band’s cohesion. Sadly, the band did not hire the most competent accountant, who was reluctant to pay the band’s taxes while their best-performing songs were being released. Stein’s 1982 development of a skin disease would be the straw that broke the camel’s back and the band finally broke up.

It seemed like you couldn’t escape Bananarama if you were around in the 80s. But while the band was thriving in the pop charts, things were not too sound within the bandmates’ dynamic. They would end up blaming immature shenanigans for their downfall, such as arriving seconds too late for rehearsals. By the time 1988 came around, Siobhan Fahey would end up going her own way to establish Shakespeare’s Sister. Bananarama did enjoy an amazing run, to be fair!
