Being an artist is something of a morbid pursuit, as your works will generally only be considered money-spinning investments when you die. That being said, there was one painter called Thomas Kinkade, also known as the “Painter of Light”, who worked so incredibly hard at pumping his paintings out that by the time of his death, art collectors were well sated. He died in 2012, when almost 5% of homes within the United States were in possession of at least one of his works, as provided by The Guardian.
