Roy Sullivan
Roy Sullivan, a park ranger, was known fondly as “the human lightning rod.” This nickname was given to him for a good reason. Lightning struck seven times during Sullivan’s lifetime, which is more times than any other individual in the history of the written word has ever been struck by lightning.

In April of 1942, the fire lookout tower was the location of the first lightning strike that was documented in Sullivan. Then, between the years 1969 and 1977, he was struck an additional six times while engaged in a variety of activities in a variety of settings. In the span of five years, he had four separate lightning strikes for an unknown cause. Sullivan could well take the cake for being the unluckiest person on our list!
