The U.S. Navy Ensures Its Claim
While the Russian Navy’s supreme fleet of submarines might be scary enough to keep many countries’ navies at bay, the United States Navy possesses enough rivaling vessels to pose more than a formidable challenge to the Eastern European giant. This is largely thanks to the Western nation’s many attack submarines and countless missiles. But that it is not to say that the U.S. Navy would simply rely on its already existing forces to guard against the Laika.
The Laika Is Still Being Planned
Despite how fearsome the Laika sounds, it is still being designed, and its actual construction will only commence in 2023. At least that is according to the United States intelligence. The superpower believes that this delayed release gives its Navy plenty of time to come up with an answer to the impending threat. While it is difficult to tell what exactly is happening inside the factories and engineering departments that are currently cooking up the new Russian submarine, it is almost certain that the U.S. Navy is hard at work developing a counter for the Laika.
