These were to be paid for their services, but it would only be allowed once an enemy had been completely obliterated. On top of the strict rules, the army had to abide by, Khan was also known for the additional laws that applied to all the Mongol people. In a very unexpected way, these laws actually helped to promote greater equality between his people. Prominent historians claim that he may not have been aware of the fact that this would be the result of his decrees, leading to greater overall loyalty among the greater group and community.
