Carefully Distributing The Loot
The more outside land that was conquered, the more the Mongol army gained access to gold, silver, horses and even human capital in the form of slaves. These were to be paid for their services, but it would only be allowed once an enemy had been completely obliterated. There was a committee to dole out these perks, which many historians consider to be a primary motivator for the army’s success rate over the course of time.
Laws To Abide By
On top of the strict rules, the army had to abide by, Khan was also known for the additional laws that applied to all the Mongol people. In a very unexpected way, these laws actually helped to promote greater equality between his people. Prominent historians claim that he may not have been aware of the fact that this would be the result of his decrees, leading to greater overall loyalty among the greater group and community.
