Theft Welcome
The Mongol army was not to be punished for theft from their opponents, and the skill of knicking key objects became a practice that soldiers had to be skilled in too. From helmets to new armor types, horses and even taking slaves, these forces did not hold back from presenting their leader with any and everything he needed. This added greater variety to their stockpile, and could be used as bartering tools with enemies later.
No Horsing Around
Anybody found training their horse in the incorrect way was immediately punished by Genghis Khan. In his view, the only way to control a horse during battle was to gain full control of it in the time leading up to the confrontation. Troops were required to bond with their horses, often having to do so with multiple steeds at the same time. There was no room for error here, as horses were central to Khan’s strategies.
