It shouldn’t come as a shock that one of the physical characteristics that individuals find appealing has something to do with their skin tone. There are certain places in the globe where you would like to be darker, and other places where you would want to be lighter; yet, there is a tribe in Africa who would want to be redder.

When the Namibian Himba tribe needs to protect themselves from the sun’s damaging rays, they make a paste from fat and red ochre. Their skin tone becomes red as a result of this mixing, which has become among the characteristics that this tribe considers beautiful.
