Make-up is really a sort of body painting in its most fundamental sense. While the majority of the world believes that it belongs on the face, for the majority of the world, it does not. In Ethiopia, however, the Caro tribe’s body painting is a different story, as may be seen here.

In this tribe, spider designs are drawn all over the body with white chalk, which is used to make the spiders. Both males and females regard this type of body painting as a sign of beauty.
