When Emily bought an abandoned school bus, almost everyone thought she had made a terrible decision. Some friends laughed, others warned her that the project would cost too much, and a few people openly said the bus belonged in a scrapyard. From the outside, it was hard to blame them. The vehicle looked old, worn down, and completely unsuitable for living. But Emily was not looking at what the bus was. She was imagining what it could become.
She was tired of expensive rent and small apartments that never felt personal. Instead of paying more for a place that did not feel like home, she wanted to build something of her own. The first stage was messy. She removed the old seats, stripped the walls, pulled up the damaged flooring, and turned the inside into an empty metal shell. For a while, it looked even worse than before. People thought she had proved them right, but Emily kept working. Slowly, the abandoned bus began turning into the beginning of a real home.
