At this point, Gail knew that she needed to collect concrete evidence before confronting her mother. Her next step was to reach out to the State of Louisiana to retrieve her mother’s birth certificate. To get it she had to impersonate her mother by filing an official copy of Alvera’s birth certificate. It didn’t take long to receive the document in her mail.
