Even though he pulled as hard as he could, his efforts were somewhat in vain, as the piece of metal he discovered was just not going to budge, no matter how much force he put into trying to get it out of the ground. He decided to keep digging, to see if it would be easier to remove once the gravel was loosened somewhat.

As he kept digging, Mike realized that the object wasn’t budging because it was connecting to something else. What exactly this was, he could only venture a guess about at the time. The object did not want to budge, even after another hour of digging. Mike was not about to give up, but his imagination ran wild as to what he could have stumbled on after all.
