The Police Took His Call Seriously
At first, James worried that the dispatcher might think his story sounded impossible. A hidden stone building with no doors or windows deep in a nature reserve was not exactly an ordinary emergency call. But as he explained what he had seen and sent several photos from his phone, the tone of the conversation changed.
The dispatcher told James to stay exactly where he was and warned him not to approach the structure again. Because the location was remote and difficult to reach by vehicle, ground officers would take too long. If the person inside tried to escape, they could disappear before police arrived. Soon, the sound of helicopter blades broke the silence above the forest. A police helicopter hovered over the clearing, and officers descended into the area, surrounding the strange stone building.
