Petra in Jordan
Located in the South of Jordan, Petra is a city in the mountainous Jabal Al-Madbah region. Affectionately dubbed the “rose city”, it is a significant part of Middle Eastern trading history. Initially built right into the rocks, it was first envisioned by the Nabataeans. This nomadic tribe spent countless days and nights carving palaces, tombs, stables and more for the people of the region. Now formally recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Petra offers a unique and prominent crossroads between Syria-Phoenicia, Egypt and Arabia, making it a prominent trading site throughout it’s long and unique history.
