Tom Waits is a California native that would become famous for his unmistakable deep and guttural voice. He would also become an actor to boot. The 1970s was the time when Waits was big into jazz, and he also experimented with vaudeville and blues. Bob Dylan and The Beat Generation were penned as his two biggest influences. He moved to San Diego to commence singing and would then move to Los Angeles to work out an asylum contract. His biggest songs are Minor Change, Saturday Night’s Hear, and Closing Time.
