Chrissie Hynde was the frontwoman of The Pretenders from 1978 onward. She was greatly influenced by the hippie counterculture fad and worked for some time in London with Vivienne Westwood at a clothes store. Hynde would eventually replace her music career with one in fashion. She would collaborate with other legends like Frank Sinatra, UB40, and Cher. Dave Hill, the CEO of Real Music, would become her record manager. One of Hynde’s highlight career moments was when she was finally able to pay her rent.

Lucinda Williams is a country singer that came from Louisiana to become one of the traditional genre’s most celebrated members. She would also dominate country-rock and folk-rock. From 1978 onward she was a music industry staple and her titular first album came out to amazing reception. She wrote Passionate Kisses, a song that handed Williams a 1994 Grammy win. She is amazingly dedicated to touring and performing, but not so much to recording albums and songs.
