Birth control is a thing of old, though. The methods now are completely different than what people use to be. Researches have been ongoing for decades to find the best contraceptive methods to aid in preventing pregnancies and the spreading of STDs. The most common diseases were not unheard of in the past, but women still tried having sex without planning to get pregnant.

So, since there were no contraceptives (like we have now) in those days, what did the women use? History has it that in ancient Egypt, women used crocodile poop as a birth control method. They would gather it, shape it into small pieces, and insert it in their genitalia. The thought of it sounds crazy as the smell pops up without even experiencing it. In addition to the awful smell it brought on, we are sure it would cause lots of infection as well.

Nowadays, women always want to look their best, especially when it comes on to their hair. They have gone as far as to carry a whole cosmetic set on their person each time they are going out. We have also seen major movie industries like Hollywood reenacting movies that portrayed massive hairstyles, especially of the early centuries. In the early days (17th century and before), if your hairstyle wasn’t observable from a mile away, it wouldn’t be counted.

There were a lot of balls going on in those days, and people needed to impress others. However, there was a problem with this. There was no electricity during that era, so ballrooms had to be decked with chandeliers made of candles. As such, it was inevitable for some hairstyles to catch fire, and just thinking about it right now is pretty funny.
