Teri Hatcher as Liz | Then
Fasten your seatbelts for some more fantastically messy family dynamics. The show writers really seemed to enjoy using the intimate lives of family members clashing as a mechanism for humor. This is exemplified by the appearance of Liz, Alan’s ex-wife’s sister. Charlie had hooked up with Liz at Alan’s wedding and can’t remember it. Alan had secretly been after Liz but settled for her sister. Liz now wants Alan badly enough to damage her relationship with her sister. Again, seriously Chuck Lorre? This is the material of an unscrupulous daytime talk show. A tacky, cringe-worthy mess with no clever subtext assembled to garner cheap laughs.
Teri Hatcher as Liz | Now
It is unfortunate how distasteful the episode of Two and a Half Men she guest-starred in was. Teri Hatcher is one of our favorite actresses, with her proven emotional range landing her a golden globe for her starring role in ‘Desperate Housewives’. Hatcher’s rise to fame started with her role as Lois Lane in the hit serious ‘Superman’. She starred in the James Bond film ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ and more recently made a guest appearance on ‘Supergirl’.
