Eye Level Is Buy Level
To maximize revenues, supermarkets take advantage of human psychology. As with putting kid-friendly merchandise on the lower shelves, most retailers will place name-brand merchandise on the upper shelves so that it is visible to the adults who will be making the purchasing decisions. Products bearing a well-known brand name are almost always in high demand. How many products you can view at once affects sales as well. The more attention a product receives, the more likely it is to be sold.
