The Accidental Goldmine
At the time that Christopher bought the home, no one had told him that there were any abandoned mines within the property bounds. This had been a chance encounter. He commented on this unlikely find, saying, “When we bought the home, nobody told us about the fact that the estate had a lot of mines on it. We just sort of stumbled upon the gold mine one day and that was it. After I saw it, I was so excited that I almost fell over myself. The one and only thing that I could think about was Indiana Jones and underground railroads.”
