Conducting Tests
More tests had to be conducted by these fossils to come to a final decision and get the results needed. The team ran some tests and collected the fragments from that location. Aside from finding out all there is to know about the fossils, the team was also tasked with the reality of figuring out which genus they came from. Scientists have always believed that there were multiple types of glyptodons, but after investigations, they found out that only two of these existed. But why did these creatures become extinct?

If you wanted to see these animals, you would have to be in existence over 10,000 years ago. It is most likely that these creatures were a hot target for humans as their shells were believed to be used as shelters. Also, the shells could have been used as a protective barrier against predators. It was also possible that the ice age played a great role in helping to put an end to the lives of these creatures. But, in addition to the ice age, another major factor played in them becoming extinct. What was it?
