What’s Wrong?
Kyle’s attitude had swiftly turned strange. His chirpy cheerfulness had been replaced with a demure silence, and his bowl remained full as his appetite faded. This fateful trip had brought some life back into the dog, as he excitedly rushed through the forest. It seemed like Kyle was missing his life back on the force, and that these trips were his opportunity to relive his glory days. You can bet that Kyle longed for the thrill of the hunt and the excitement of being a police officer.

Kyle was certainly back on the hunt as he plowed his nose through the ground, chasing a trail that was only detectable by his experienced and trained senses. The Smiths did their best to convince him to return to their normal path, but Kyle was fixated. Whatever smell he had picked up, it was far too curious to let go. Despite his years of obedience to his masters, Kyle’s agreeable training disappeared as his instincts drove him on the hunt.
