Generally, police dogs will accompany various officers while they go on the beat. While most police dogs will happily cooperate with their fellow officers, but Officer John was the only one that had Kyle’s true loyalty. John was his master, and the two would form a rare friendship. Of course, John had to bring Kyle into his family, meaning that the duo would always be working together. They would prove to be a formidable team, one that would make criminals’ lives incredibly difficult in general.

Kyle would not always be able to follow John in his service, however, and all partnerships must eventually conclude. As much as John wished to keep Kyle with him, the human officer simply couldn’t look after the doggy one while he worked. John would never do anything that would make Kyle’s life unhappy, and had no other choice but to give his best friend up for adoption. It was with a heavy heart that John passed Kyle onto the Smiths.
