In the meantime, John had dashed out of his police station to begin making his way to the countryside. As he got onto the freeway out of the city, his heart began to ache as he remembered how painful it had been to part ways with his old partner. He felt miserably guilty that he had not had a chance to visit his old best friend with how hectic his work had been, and the journey took hours longer than John had previously anticipated.
