Grossinger’s Catskills Resort
In the 1950s, Grossinger’s was the most popular nightclub in the New York Catskills resort region. It was such a popular spot that it served as the primary source of creativity for the movie Dirty Dancing. During its heyday, the resort was known for its artificial snow for skiing, its on-site runway, its opulent ballrooms, its golf courses, its auditoriums, and its vast range of sports facilities. In spite of this, by the 1980s, Grossinger’s had fallen into ruin and had to shut its doors. The whole building has deteriorated into a run-down, illegal relic of a bygone period in almost forty years since that time.
