Big Diomede Island, Russia
Big Diomede and Little Diomede are the names of the islands that lie between the United States of America and Russia in the Bering Strait. On the American side of the island, Little Diomede is home to little more than one hundred people, while the larger Big Diomede is unfit for human habitation and serves as a meteorological station for Russia.
