While there were still no clues about who could be behind the petty thefts, whoever it was was certainly displaying some strange behavior. The thief always avoided taking very expensive items, targeting smaller ticket items like clothes, batteries, magazines and more. This was not your average criminal, that’s for sure.

As the story spread throughout the town, many dubbed the mysterious criminal with a nickname, as is common when people are scared. Names like “The Stealthy Yeti”, “Mountain Main” and “Loch Ness Monster” started being introduced in conversations, until the media finally settled on the “North Pond Hermit”.
